FinVista started as a small editorial desk with a simple conviction: financial decisions deserve clear, unhurried explanations. We are a team of writers, analysts, and former advisors who believe that trust is built through plain language, verifiable numbers, and a willingness to say "it depends." This page introduces the people behind the articles, the editorial standards we hold, and the history that shaped our approach.
Our editorial independence matters. These institutions provide data, research context, and professional perspectives that shape the guides and articles published here.
Market data and listing information used in our ETF and index articles.
Professional standards and continuing education resources for certified planners.
Monetary policy statements and inflation data referenced in our economic explainers.
Fund performance analytics and independent rating methodology for managed funds.
Index fund documentation and cost comparison tools for long-term investors.
Former lecturer in applied economics at the University of Western Australia, Alyce has spent eighteen years translating academic research into plain-language guidance for retail investors. She leads the editorial calendar and fact-checks every piece before publication.
Eileen spent a decade in institutional fixed-income research before joining FinVista. She writes the retirement and bond-ladder explainers, and she is the one who insists on showing the tax implications that other sites skip.
Marcus manages model portfolios for a small advisory practice in Perth and contributes the ETF and index-fund comparisons. His rule is simple: if a strategy cannot be explained in one paragraph, it does not belong on this site.
Priya verifies every chart, table and historical figure used in the guides. She previously worked in financial data journalism in Sydney and keeps the site honest about the limits of back-tested performance.
Daniel covers inflation protection, commodities and the practical side of building a diversified portfolio. He writes from experience managing his own family's savings and is careful to separate opinion from established research.
Our starting point FinVista began in 2016 as a small research desk inside a university economics department. We wanted to test whether plain-language financial education could change how people approach retirement saving, so we ran a two-year study with 340 participants aged 38 to 61. The results were clear: most people do not need more products, they need clearer explanations of how the products they already own actually behave.
What we do Today we publish guides, market notes and practical explainers on ETFs, bond ladders, inflation protection and passive income. Every article is reviewed by at least two editors with professional backgrounds in portfolio management or financial planning. We do not sell funds, take commissions or recommend specific brokers, which keeps our editorial line independent from commercial pressure.
Who we serve Our readers are typically working professionals between 35 and 65 who manage their own investments or want to understand what their adviser is doing. We write for people who are comfortable with spreadsheets but not necessarily with financial jargon. If a term needs a definition, we define it on the spot rather than linking to a glossary page.
Our tone We avoid hype, guaranteed returns and urgency. Market commentary on FinVista reads like a careful briefing from a colleague, not a sales pitch. When we are uncertain about a forecast, we say so. When historical data contradicts a popular belief, we show the numbers and let the reader decide.
